  • Ways to apply the names and faces memory methods to other information.

BIO: Brent Sverdloff

brentSverdloff1Brent Sverdloff is a memory coach and the author of How Could I Forget You! A Creative Way to Remember Names and Faces. A practitioner of trained-memory methods since his teens, Brent credits this skill with enabling him to learn multiple languages and hold archivist positions at The Getty Research Institute and Harvard Business School early in his career.

Brent has helped countless students and professionals retrain their brain. Since 2004, he has taught memorization techniques in San Francisco at the Commonwealth Club, California Academy of Sciences, and City College; Adult Education Centers in Greater Boston; wellness education centers in the New York area; and to private clients and business teams elsewhere.

Investors, realtors, teachers, actors, police officers, medical students, attorneys, HR managers, and many others have learned how to sharpen their powers of observation and strengthen their memory. Drawing on his recent years as an executive at performing arts non-profits such as the Boston Conservatory and BATS Improv, Brent knows how to engage participants with lively interaction. Brent’s go-to website is www.flexyourmemory.com.

“How Could I Forget You! is well-researched, engaging, and just plain fun to read. Brent proves he’s both a talented writer and teacher as he guides you through his tips and practice exercises. If you’ve always wanted to be that person who’s good with names, this is the book for you.” —Paige Brettingen, Journalist, The Washington Post and The Atlantic

“The techniques that Sverdloff lays out for remembering names and faces—something frustratingly difficult for so many people—are surprisingly simple, yet brilliantly effective. They’re also flat-out fun, not at all like the rote memorization one would expect to be reading about. And for someone like me whose professional work is based on words and wordplay, the techniques are especially apropos. Read it to find out why!” —Frank Longo, Crossword Puzzle Creator and Editor
